Windstar reveals design concepts for dining and lounge areas on Star Seeker

Windstar Cruises has released a preliminary overview of the interior spaces aboard Star Seeker, the cruise line’s first purpose-built Star Class vessel, ahead of its December 2025 maiden voyage. The 224-passenger yacht, which will be officially christened in Miami on January 15, 2026, features newly designed public spaces that balance function and aesthetics while retaining Windstar’s hallmark small-ship intimacy.

Newly revealed imagery includes three of the vessel’s primary social and dining venues: Amphora Restaurant, the Main Lounge, and the Yacht Club. These central areas are designed as dual-purpose environments, transforming between day and evening roles to foster guest interaction and provide comfort throughout the voyage.

Amphora Restaurant remains the line’s flagship dining venue. The space will accommodate both formal and informal dining scenarios, offering a buffet and à la carte service for breakfast and lunch, while transitioning to a more refined experience for dinner with ocean views and multi-course meals. As part of Windstar’s partnership with the James Beard Foundation, Amphora will continue to feature exclusive dishes created by affiliated chefs. No reservations are required for dinner service, though the venue’s layout has been optimized to support both spontaneous and private dining preferences.

Basil + Bamboo, a newly introduced specialty dining venue, combines Mediterranean and Asian culinary traditions. Unlike many cruise operators that place a surcharge on such experiences, this restaurant will be included in the standard fare. Seating is limited, and evening service is reservation-recommended to maintain the venue’s intimate setting.

The Yacht Club serves as a versatile lounge and refreshment area, catering to guests from early morning through the evening hours. It offers premium coffee and light fare by day, shifting into a relaxed cocktail lounge after sunset, complemented by soft live music and conversation.

The Main Lounge, designed as the vessel’s central multi-use gathering area, will accommodate enrichment programming, including port briefings and guest lectures, during daytime hours. In the evening, the space will host live entertainment and musical performances. A longstanding Windstar tradition, the crew talent show will also be held here during each voyage.

In addition to the indoor venues, Star Seeker will offer outdoor dining at Star Grill, a casual, open-air venue specializing in grilled meats, fresh seafood, and flame-cooked vegetables. The venue serves lunch and dinner, and like all dining on board, there is no additional charge. A 24-hour room service menu will also be available, with the full Amphora dinner menu offered for private in-suite dining.

Stijn Creupelandt, Windstar’s Chief Operating Officer, has indicated that the design of Star Seeker reflects the line’s ongoing commitment to evolving the Star Class platform. He noted that each element of the ship’s configuration has been intentionally planned to support a flexible guest experience without compromising the brand’s casual yet upscale identity.

Following her debut in the Caribbean, Star Seeker will operate a diverse series of itineraries. These include summer sailings to Alaska, followed by deployment in East Asia, where the ship will explore Japanese ports and lesser-known coastal regions of Thailand and Vietnam.

Star Seeker is expected to represent a contemporary evolution of Windstar’s established fleet, retaining the brand’s core identity while expanding its operational and experiential offerings through thoughtful design and strategic deployment.
