As a result, the port call at Geiranger has been removed from select voyages, with Hellesylt serving as the alternative destination.
The affected sailings, departing on May 3, 10, and 17, 2025, will now include a full-day stop at Hellesylt, a village situated on the shores of the Geirangerfjord. This adjustment allows passengers to experience the region’s renowned natural beauty while avoiding the navigational challenges presented by Geirangerfjord.
Hellesylt offers access to various excursions showcasing Norway’s dramatic landscapes, including waterfalls, mountains, and fjords. Passengers can participate in activities such as nature walks, cultural tours, and visits to nearby villages, providing an immersive experience of the area.
For guests who had pre-booked excursions in Geiranger, MSC Cruises is offering alternative options in Hellesylt. Passengers dissatisfied with the itinerary change have the option to cancel their cruise reservations and receive a full refund.
The MSC Euribia, powered by LNG, is currently repositioning to Northern Europe following her inaugural winter season in the Middle East. The vessel is sailing without passengers via Africa and the Atlantic to prepare for its summer program, which includes 7-night cruises through Norway’s fjords and Denmark, departing from Kiel.
