Sun Princess Reveals Updated Dining Options Ahead of Caribbean Debut
As Princess Cruises prepares for the debut of the Sun Princess in North America, several updates are being made to enhance the onboard experience. These changes include the relocation of popular dining venues, the introduction of a new exclusive restaurant for Sanctuary Collection guests, and new names for key dining areas.
Taking effect on October 14, 2024, these updates aim to improve both the ambiance and functionality of the ship’s dining spaces.
New Dining Locations on Sun Princess
Several of the ship’s dining venues are relocating to provide guests with a more intimate and immersive experience. Having sailed on Sun Princess for a media sailing back in March, these location changes should be well received by guests.
Here’s a look at what’s new:
Sanctuary Restaurant
Located on Deck 8 aft, in the previous space of the Americana Diner, the Sanctuary Restaurant will be an exclusive spot for guests staying in the Sanctuary Collection. This venue features a custom chef’s menu, dedicated waitstaff, and breathtaking ocean views, creating an unforgettable dining atmosphere.
The Catch by Rudi
Moving to Deck 7, adjacent to the Piazza, this innovative seafood restaurant by Chef Rudi Sodamin will replace the Signature Restaurant. The Catch by Rudi serves up creative interpretations of classic seafood dishes with a contemporary twist, blending international flavors with artistic presentations for a memorable dining experience.
The Butcher’s Block by Dario
This meat-lover’s paradise, in collaboration with famed butcher Dario Cecchini, will now be located on Deck 7 forward, taking over the former Crown Grill space. Featuring a family-style, shared dining experience, The Butcher’s Block by Dario is perfect for those who love a hearty, communal meal centered around top-quality cuts of meat.
Crown Grill
For guests seeking an intimate dining experience, Crown Grill will now be found on Deck 7 aft, in the previous location of the Reserve Collection Restaurant. This upscale venue offers the finest selection of beef, chops, and seafood in an elegant setting.
Americana Diner
For casual, all-day dining, the Americana Diner will now call Deck 9 aft home. Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner favorites, this diner offers a relaxed atmosphere and is the perfect spot for a meal at any time of day.

Name Changes for Dining Spaces
In addition to relocating several dining venues, some existing restaurants have received fresh new names to match their updated experiences:
- Horizons Dining Room on Deck 6 aft has been renamed the Soleil Dining Room.
- Horizons Dining Room on Deck 7 aft is now called the Eclipse Dining Room.
Park19 has also been rebranded as the SkyDeck Sports Court & Track.
Enhancing the Guest Experience
Sami Kohen, Vice President of Food & Beverage for Princess Cruises, expressed excitement about these changes, stating, “With the relocation and transformation of these popular specialty restaurants, we’re not only enhancing the ambiance but also optimizing the overall dining experience for our guests.
These new locations allow us to expand capacity while also creating more intimate and immersive culinary environments, ensuring that every meal aboard Sun Princess is truly exceptional.”
The Sanctuary Collection Debuts
The introduction of the Sanctuary Collection on October 14 promises to elevate the cruising experience for guests seeking relaxation and luxury. This exclusive area, located on the ship’s top deck, offers private dining in the new Sanctuary Restaurant and access to serene spaces for unwinding.
Guests staying in the 80 luxurious suites, 123 Mini Suites, and 12 Premium Deluxe Balcony staterooms will enjoy added perks like premium amenities and all-inclusive offerings through the Princess Premier bundle.
