Scarlet Lady Resumes Service After Drydock – Cruise Industry News
Virgin Voyages’ Scarlet Lady resumed service in late November after undergoing drydock upgrades at the Fincantieri shipyard in Palermo, Italy.
According to the company, the 2020-built ship received a series of cosmetic updates that include new beverage options, an increased number of suites and refreshed public rooms.
Among the changes, Razzle Dazzle, which serves veggie-friendly brunch, now includes a new evening concept with enhanced ambiance that serves a Chinese-inspired menu and craft cocktails.
On Deck 11, several Sea Terrace cabins were converted to create 24 “Seriously Suite” RockStar Quarters that measure 352 sq. ft. each.
Ground Club Too, a coffee bar in Virgin’s modern food hall The Galley, is now turning into a full-service bar for evening service, with new intimate lounge spaces and craft cocktails.
Other changes include the expansion of Scarlet Lady’s non-smoking casino, as well as the creation of a couples treatment room at the ship’s Redemption Spa.
The Scarlet Lady welcomed passengers back for a trans-Atlantic crossing in Civitavecchia, Italy, on Nov. 28, 2024.
The vessel is scheduled to arrive in PortMiami on Dec. 14, 2024, to kick off a series of six- to eight-night cruises to the Caribbean and the Bahamas.
In addition to Virgin’s Beach Club in Bimini, the itineraries feature visits to various destinations, including San Juan in Puerto Rico, Costa Maya in Mexico and St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
As the first ship to enter service for Virgin Voyages, the Scarlet Lady first debuted in early 2020 but had its maiden season interrupted by the pandemic.
After resuming service in 2021, the ship offered itineraries in Northern Europe before arriving in Miami for the first time in October.
