Carnival Spirit Unveils Enhancements Following Drydock – Cruise Industry News
The Carnival Spirit has resumed sailing following drydock, sporting several enhancements, including a Heroes Tribute Bar, a dedicated space for active-duty military and veterans.
The ship is currently sailing two back-to-back repositioning cruises: a transatlantic voyage to Miami, followed by a Panama Canal journey to Seattle, ahead of the Alaska summer season.
“The new Heroes Tribute Bar and all the other upgrades to Carnival Spirit are part of our ongoing effort to continually enhance our existing fleet with features we know our guests appreciate and enjoy,” said Lisa McCabe, Carnival’s vice president of refurbishments.
The ship’s Cloud 9 spa, Fitness Center and retail shops were updated, including a new Carnival Adventures Shop and a Dreams Studio. The Spirit now also features a dedicated space for Chef’s Table and a new mini golf course. The casino was refreshed with a new look, layout and added gaming machines and the ship’s nightclub was renovated. Additionally, all youth program spaces were upgraded.
The Carnival Spirit is currently sailing from Barcelona on a 14-day voyage, visiting Malaga, Cadiz, Spain; Ponta Delgada, Portugal; and Bermuda before arriving in Miami on March 30. Following that, it will embark on a 15-day voyage to Seattle, transiting the Panama Canal and visiting Cartagena, Colombia; Puntarenas, Costa Rica; and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
On April 14, the ship will begin a series of week-long Alaska sailings, including visits to Tracy Arm Fjord, Skagway, Juneau, Ketchikan and Victoria, Canada. In September, the vessel will embark on a 15-day roundtrip cruise to Hawaii from Seattle, followed by a one-way voyage to New Orleans in October before returning to Mobile, Ala.
