Carnival Corporation Strengthens Ties with St. Kitts – Cruise Industry News

Carnival Corporation recently participated in a series of collaborative events in St. Kitts, reaffirming its commitment to multi-stakeholder engagement and educational initiatives.

Carnival said in a press release that the visit brought together senior government officials, local tour operators and students over several days to discuss ways to enhance tourism, foster authentic cultural experiences and support educational growth in the region.

Carnival executives received insight into St. Kitts’ offerings, experiencing the Old Road Rum Tour, the Cultural Extravaganza at Port Zante and the St. Kitts Scenic Railway Tour.

Company representatives, alongside the St. Kitts Tourism Authority, participated in a tour of Eco Park. This event showcased the island’s botanical heritage, eco-tourism offerings and the diversity of its flora.

Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew and the cabinet met with other professionals to discuss strategies for sustainable growth in the cruise industry and strengthening the partnership between Carnival Corporation and the destination.

These included Javonté Anyabwelé, vice president of global strategic sourcing at Carnival Corporation; Charlene Drakes, manager, stakeholder engagements, Caribbean Region at Carnival Corporation; and Odette McFarlane, director of port and shore operations at Carnival UK.

Anyabwelé inspired over 70 Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College students with a talk focused on resilience and dedication.

Culinary students from Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College enjoyed an educational experience aboard P&O Cruises’ Britannia. Led by Training Manager Goldha Franks, they met with Executive Chef Paul, explored work and life onboard and concluded with a lunch.

Local tour operators presented excursion experiences to Carnival, from luxury tours to adventure outings. This session explored future partnerships to diversify shore excursion options for Carnival Corporation’s cruise lines and their guests.

Anyabwelé joined industry leaders at the State of the Industry event, including Prime Minister Drew and St. Kitts Tourism Authority’s CEO Kelly Fontenelle.

Discussions focused on the importance of connectivity for modern travelers and how onboard innovation enhances guest experiences.
