Gastrointestinal Illness Outbreak Reported on Regent’s Seven Seas Explorer During Transpacific Voyage

In May 2025, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported a gastrointestinal illness outbreak aboard RSSC-Regent Seven Seas Cruises' vessel, Seven Seas Explorer. The outbreak occurred during an 18-night voyage that commenced in Tokyo (Japan) on April 26 and concluded in Vancouver (BC Canada) on May 14. Out of 666 passengers, 22 reported symptoms consistent with acute gastroenteritis, including diarrhea and vomiting. Additionally, two crew members were affected.
