Celebrity Starts Homeporting Operations at Port Canaveral – Cruise Industry News
Celebrity Cruises launched its inaugural homeporting season in Port Canaveral this week with the Celebrity Equinox.
According to Port Canaveral, the vessel has become the 15th vessel to be homeported in its cruise terminals.
After completing a trans-Atlantic crossing that began in Europe, the ship arrived in Port Canaveral for the first time on Monday, December 3, 2024.
Following a three-night cruise to the Bahamas, the Equinox is set to start a series of seven-night cruises from Port Canaveral this weekend.
With departures every Saturday, the vessel will offer itineraries to the Eastern and Western Caribbean through late April 2025.
The cruises include visits to St. Maarten, Puerto Rico, Belize City, Key West, Puerto Plata, Costa Maya and more.
Starting in March, the Celebrity Equinox is also scheduled to visit Royal Caribbean’s private island destination in the Bahamas, Perfect Day at CocoCay.
After its inaugural homeporting season, Celebrity Cruises plans to deploy a larger ship in Port Canaveral for 2025-26.
Replacing the Equinox, the Celebrity Apex is scheduled to offer seven-night cruises from Central Florida starting in early November 2025.
The deployment will run through late April 2026 and includes itineraries to the Bahamas and the Caribbean visiting Key West, San Juan, Bimini and more. Some itineraries also feature Royal Caribbean’s private destination in Haiti, Labadee.
Celebrity Cruises has already confirmed the return of the Apex for a second homeporting season during the 2026-27 winter.
In addition to Celebrity Cruises, the port is welcoming Princess Cruises for its first deployment in Central Florida in 2024-25.
After arriving at its new homeport in late November, the Caribbean Princess will offer a series of six- to eight-night cruises to the Southern and Eastern Caribbean.
The company is also scheduled to expand its offerings from the port in 2025-26 with the arrival of the Sky Princess.
