Guests booked on the May 23, 2026, sailing of the Disney Treasure have been informed of a minor itinerary adjustment. Fortunately, this change is simply a swap of port days, and with more than a year’s notice, travelers have ample time to adjust their plans accordingly.

Disney Cruise Line Announces Itinerary Update

Disney Cruise Line has contacted guests with an update regarding the 7-night Eastern Caribbean voyage aboard the Disney Treasure, departing from Port Canaveral, Florida.

“The itinerary for your cruise has recently been modified by swapping the days the ship will visit Tortola, British Virgin Islands, and St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands,” the official email states.

While the ship will still visit both destinations, the order in which they appear on the itinerary has changed.

New vs. Original Itinerary

The original itinerary planned for the first two days at sea, followed by a stop in Tortola on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, then St. Thomas on Wednesday, May 27, 2026. The sailing would then feature another day at sea before arriving at Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay, on Friday, May 29, 2026.

Now, the updated schedule flips the order of the ports:

Sunday, May 24: Day at Sea
Monday, May 25: Day at Sea
Tuesday, May 26: St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands (Previously Tortola)
Wednesday, May 27: Tortola, British Virgin Islands (Previously St. Thomas)
Thursday, May 28: Day at Sea
Friday, May 29: Castaway Cay (Unchanged)
Saturday, May 30: Return to Port Canaveral

There are no changes to the departure and return times at Port Canaveral, ensuring guests’ pre- and post-cruise travel arrangements remain unaffected.

Why Did Disney Change the Port Schedule?

Disney Cruise Line has not provided a specific reason for this itinerary adjustment, but several possible factors could be at play.

One of the most likely explanations is port congestion. Many cruise lines schedule their itineraries years in advance, and port schedules are subject to change to optimize guest experiences. By swapping the port days, Disney may be avoiding an overcrowded stop.
