Rhapsody Arrives in Trinidad for EPIC Carnival Experience 2025 – Cruise Industry News

Royal Caribbean’s Rhapsody of the Seas arrived in Port of Spain as part of the EPIC Carnival Experience 2025, a chartered cruise bringing 1,200 visitors to Trinidad for Carnival.

The ship, which departed from San Juan, Puerto Rico, was welcomed by officials from the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Arts (MTCA), Tourism Trinidad Limited and local authorities.

Passengers were greeted with a cultural showcase featuring Carnival characters, live steelpan music by En ToTo and local cuisine, including Trinidad’s signature doubles.

This marks Rhapsody of the Seas’ second EPIC charter following its 2023 visit.

Minister of Tourism, Culture and the Arts Randall Mitchell, said: “The return of Rhapsody of the Seas as a charter for EPIC Carnival Experience is a significant achievement. It highlights the power of our Carnival product and demonstrates the potential for continued growth in this sector. We are committed to working with industry leaders to expand our reach and ensure that visitors continue to choose Trinidad and Tobago for the ultimate Carnival and year-round experiences.”

During his opening remarks, Jonathon Mack, owner and operator of EPIC Carnival Experience, announced that the event has been renewed through 2028. In response, Port of Spain Mayor Chinua Alleyne encouraged organizers to dock earlier in future years to allow visitors to experience the Kambule Riots re-enactment, highlighting Carnival’s history.

Guests on the EPIC Carnival Experience will have access to Carnival events, a private J’ouvert, live performances, cultural workshops, gourmet dining, premium drinks and onboard amenities like a casino and duty-free shopping. The cruise also includes a Carnival Cooldown beach party
