Viking Launches Explorers’ Sale – Cruise Industry News

Viking has announced the launch of its Explorers’ Sale, providing North American travelers with new booking incentives across the company’s range of river, ocean and expedition voyages.

The company said in a press release that from now through Jan. 31, 2025, it is offering special fares starting at $1,999 per person and up to free international airfare on select itineraries.

Viking added that it is also offering a $25 deposit for all itineraries — plus additional savings for new and returning guests.

The cruise line explores all seven continents, with river, ocean and expedition voyages calling in more than 500 ports in more than 85 countries.

Highlights of the company’s most popular itineraries include the following:

“Iconic Western Mediterranean” (eight days; Barcelona to Rome): The itinerary includes France’s southern coast, overnights in Barcelona and Tuscany, Montpellier, Marseille and Carlo.

“In Search of the Northern Lights” (15 days; London to Bergen): The itinerary includes the aurora borealis and a focus on Sami legends and World War II history.

“Grand European Tour” (15 days; Budapest to Amsterdam): The itinerary includes Rhine Valley vistas, Austria’s Wachau Valley, Melk’s Benedictine Abbey and the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers.

“Rhine Getaway” (eight days; Basel to Amsterdam): The itinerary also includes Rhine Valley vistas, Austria’s Wachau Valley, Melk’s Benedictine Abbey and the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers.

“Pharaohs & Pyramids” (12 days; Cairo roundtrip): The itinerary includes pyramids, the Temple of Karnak’s 136 soaring pillars, Queen Nefertari’s tomb in the Valley of the Queens, the Nile, Aswan’s spice market and a 12-day cruise tour through Egypt on a Viking vessel.

“Mississippi Delta Explorer” (eight days; New Orleans to Memphis): The itinerary includes Darrow, the towns along the banks of the Mississippi and the Vicksburg battlefield.

“Antarctic Explorer” (13 days; Buenos Aries to Ushuaia): The itinerary focuses on the Antarctic peninsula.
