Zuiderdam Arrives in Boston for Homeporting Season – Cruise Industry News
After offering Holland America Line’s 35-night “Voyage of the Vikings,” the Zuiderdam is returning to Boston today to kick off a late summer program in Canada and New England.
Sailing between its homeport in Massachusetts and Quebec City in Canada, the vessel is set to offer a series of seven-night cruises in the region.
Named “Canada & New England Discovery,” the regular itinerary features visits to Charlottetown, Sydney, and Halifax, in addition to alternating calls in Saguenay, Rockland, Portland, Bar Harbor and Saint John.
Joining the Volendam, which is also sailing in the region, the Zuiderdam is set to offer the itinerary through late October.
The ship then offers Holland America’s new “Perfect Caribbean Escape” cruise. Sailing roundtrip from Boston, the 21-night itinerary features visits to several destinations in the Caribbean and the Bahamas, as well as a visit to Bermuda.
After departing from its homeport, the Zuiderdam is set to visit King’s Wharf and Half Moon Cay before arriving in Grand Turk.
The itinerary continues with visits to destinations in the Southern Caribbean, including Curaçao, Aruba, Barbados and Grenada.
On its way back to North America, the ship is also scheduled to visit Martinique, Guadeloupe, St. Kitts, St. Maarten and Puerto Rico.
Once in Boston, the Zuiderdam kicks off a repositioning voyage to Fort Lauderdale ahead of a series of seven- to ten-night cruises to the Southern and Eastern Caribbean.
In January 2025, the ship is also scheduled to offer Holland America’s “Grand World Cruise.” The voyage sails for 124 nights and features destinations in the Caribbean, South America and the South Pacific, in addition to Australia, Southeast Asia, the Indian Ocean and the Africa Coast.
The itinerary also features ports of call in the Mediterranean and the Atlantic before returning to Fort Lauderdale in early May.
